Movie – Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Overview:

Finally have the last movie in this trilogy… and lets get this out of the way first, calling the film Rise of the Feminist in my eyes is a more appropriate name. Best part is it might have made the movie more enjoyable, most of the time I wanted to just go on my phone and bs around instead. Its fast paced but boring and lacks the ability to keep the viewer enthused about whats to come. Characters are bland and uninteresting, no lines stand out and the fights are meh, they try to be flashy instead of crafting a exciting battle between people.

Every one progressively has been getting worse and this one is no different. The pace is very fast and all over the place at times. From the opening scene you are shown Kylo somehow finding a object that will lead to the person that is the primary focus of the plot. As for how he knew where or how to obtain this item… was not explained in the film but probably in outside content. Is it bad to do this? No but it is annoying and leads the viewers into confusion since most will only see the film so including as many little details as possible is very important.

There are only 2 of these items and of course now Rey is needing to find and acquire the second one… so they hunt for clues left behind and continue the search that was forced to be abandoned. Once they get to this item its complete plot convenience for how it was acquired all to push a `look how strong Rey and her force powers are and the level she is at` :wtfwhy:

If that wasn’t enough the supposed climax battle has the ending being force juice battery on and running low happen… never shown or explained in the past that this could be a thing but ok can slight pass this one. Then there is space and time object warping and fights, ok tf is this, this is too far to pass off, and they do it several times :poortom:. Then to top it off they even have the ending hopeless scene as usual but now out of nowhere there is a shining hope… that is poorly implemented and makes the viewer go how did they all happen to get there at the same time. These people can be slightly explained if there happened to be a signal sent out with direct route to get there but come on how much leeway are we going to give to excuse a terrible plot, one or 2 passes is all im willing to give, refuse to excuse an entire plot for it to be acceptable and decent, it’s a bad movie plain and simple, the plot and execution of said plot is not thought out in the slightest, asspull after asspull, its annoying.

Visuals/Music:

Visuals are good for the most part. Some of the characters are really out of place with how they are rendered and was distracting, was one of the few things keeping the viewer from looking away from the screen. CGI explosions and ships, same goes for them as the characters but more refined, characters are the worst part of the visuals, rest is good enough.

Music is not up to snuff of the original 6 films. While it is good it doesn’t get used the fullest and feels forced at times. They do not try to meld it into the film in order to enhance viewer immersion. It felt more like `lets shove this intense track here since it sounds cool` rather than using the tracks that would be more appropriate to enhance the viewing experience.

Final Thoughts:

I do not recommend any of the latest Star Wars films. They are a joke and should be scrapped like Disney has done to near all the original verses content. It’s a simple shame this is even in existence tarnishing its name so badly.

Even the little details of yellow eyes showing a person has turned to dark side are missing. Complete negligence to the verse and its rules they have set that are not scrapped yet… unless it was a scrapped rule midway through the production and hasn’t been announced publicly yet.

If there is an option to see another movie, if it isn’t Charlies Angels, pick that one instead. Fights wont satisfy, plot wont satisfy, visuals are meh, no memorable lines or quotes, nothing redeems this in the slightest.
