Game – Summertime Saga – v0.17.5

Overview:

First and foremost, this is a lewd game. Anybody not of age should not be playing it…lol. With that out of the way, it’s a game that is available through Android, Windows and Mac. There is a world map that allows you to go to different locations, can work to gain money, buy items and lvl up 4 different skills. It is an RPG/VN mix with lewd integration. Not sure what genre it falls into, its pretty unique and reminds me of the older style sim dating games that were on newgrounds, for those that remember them. The main difference is that it takes the concept and excels it forward expanding in several aspects.

There are several different scenes with various characters and triggers that require a certain day and time to occur. Even in its current version, reading through and playing the game will take about 10+ hours. Skipping through or looking things up on their wiki for how to speed through the game will definitely shorten the time and can easily be had for way less then 10 hours but at that point the game would be much fun to playing imo. They got a lot of niche character types, some a bit more fleshed out then others but that is to be expected with this still being in beta. If the version number is anything to go by this is only at around the 18ish percent mark so there should be a lot more to come.

Visuals/Music:

The art style I enjoyed. It has more of a cartoonish feel, but there is a certain charm that goes along with it taking this stylistic approach. All of the characters, whether in a scene or not are illustrated well. The scenes are for the most part are halfway between still and animated. Some are scenes are better then others in terms of fluidity. Fluidity of animation is not what the style was aiming for not that isn’t a problem.

The music, there is not much here of it. What is there is alright, there isn’t anything to brag or complain about. There are a lot of sound effects which are the same as the music, they do the job adequately. The sound in general is something I can almost guarantee is not anywhere near what will be arriving in the final product. What is given currently is more of a nice touch.

Final Thoughts:

Can’t rate the game since it is still in beta. The creator offers the beta for both public and patrons. I do not know the exact differences between the 2. I think it shows promise and is quite a funny game. They have done a good job so far with what appears to be constant updates and progress reports throughout the weeks and months. New game versions are released every month or so, it’s a bit random when they are released.

Won’t be doing an update review for the next version, v0.18. Might do another one when there is a significant more amount of content then currently though. If I had to give it a rating number, it would be a 3/5 since the comedy and overall game is fun to pass the time with. I don’t see the game getting worse, only better as time goes on.
